Omar Nagem.

I engineer efficient real-world systems through data, operations, and rigorous analysis.

Honors industrial engineering student at UT Arlington. I've run dealership operations, timed passenger flows at DFW Airport, and shipped a management system that's still in production.

How I work

I start with the system as it actually operates. I collect the data, find the constraints, analyze the problem, build a practical solution, and check whether it worked.

Measure · Analyze · Design · Build · Verify

  1. STEP 01

    Measure

Collect data before changing anything: time studies, logs, direct observation.

  2. STEP 02

    Analyze

Turn records into evidence: statistics, models, root-cause analysis.

  3. STEP 03

    Design

Design the fix around real constraints like cost, capacity, and people.

  4. STEP 04

    Build

Build the tool, process, or system, then deploy it for real use.

  5. STEP 05

    Verify

Check outcomes against targets, then iterate until the numbers move.

About

The résumé tells you what I did. This is why.

I'm an honors industrial engineering student at UT Arlington, and I've been running real operations since before I started university. Since 2022 I've managed day-to-day operations at a family dealership in Arlington, covering inventory, pricing, and the software that supports it. It's still live today.

In the summer of 2025 I spent two months inside DFW International Airport, timing peak-hour passenger flows and redesigning checkpoint layouts in AutoCAD ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Today I contribute to faculty-led machine learning research on wire-arc additive manufacturing, and I represent engineering students in UTA Student Government.

I grew up in Palestine, where I attended Arafat High School for Gifted Students before moving to Arlington. I work in English and Arabic, and I'm drawn to problems where the answer has to work in the real world: operations research, systems engineering, and building the tools that make operations better.
